Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin
Bus logistics for the world's largest inclusive sporting event – several thousand people, planned, organised and delivered from a single source.
About the event
The world's largest inclusive sporting event
In the summer of 2023, the world's largest inclusive sporting event took place in Berlin. Around it, we planned, organised and delivered the bus logistics for several thousand people.
An international event brings challenges in many respects. With the right bus partners at our side, we met them flexibly and individually. From the planning stage onward, the focus was on developing different solutions for each situation – exactly what years of experience in bus logistics have taught us.
- Major-event logistics for several thousand participants over four days.
- Fully accessible vehicles only – inclusive from the very first journey.
- Flexible on site, even with last-minute changes mid-operation.

Challenge & solution
What was tricky – and how we solved it
An inclusive major event leaves no room for loose ends. For every hurdle we had a clear plan – here are both, side by side.
- Challenge
Only fully accessible vehicles could be used – with room for wheelchairs and companions.
Our solutionWorking with long-standing bus partners so that suitable, barrier-free vehicles were available throughout.
- Challenge
Significantly more cargo space for all the sports equipment – additional trailers were required.
Our solutionEarly planning built on years of experience, so vehicles and trailers were scheduled well in advance.
- Challenge
Last-minute changes that kept affecting routes and timings.
Our solutionEnsuring enough flexibility on site to react to any shift immediately.
- Challenge
Final data was only received shortly before the event began.
Our solutionForward-looking planning with built-in buffers, so the late data could be worked in without any scramble.
Inclusion at the core
Mobility that leaves no one behind
At the World Games, only fully accessible vehicles were in service – with space for wheelchairs, companions and the extensive sports equipment. That was not an add-on, but a baseline requirement for every single journey.
This is exactly where our network of long-standing bus partners pays off: it makes sure the right vehicles are available even when an event places these demands across several days and venues.
