Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use our website, regardless of how you read, hear, see or navigate. This statement describes how accessible hansemondial.de currently is, what we do to keep improving and how you can report barriers to us.
Scope and status
This statement applies to the website hansemondial.de operated by Hanse Mondial GmbH and was prepared in July 2026. We review and update it continuously, at the latest whenever the website changes substantially.
Conformance status
The benchmark for this website are the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the European standard EN 301 549, which builds on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA. The website is partially compliant with these requirements. The limitations listed below are known to us and are being fixed step by step.
What we do for accessibility
- Semantic HTML with a clear heading structure and landmarks.
- Full keyboard operability, including a skip link and a visible focus indicator.
- Sufficient colour contrast per WCAG AA on text and controls.
- Built-in accessibility tools (icon at the bottom left): read aloud, font size, line and letter spacing, contrast modes, reading mask, stop animations and more. Your settings stay on your device; no data is sent to third parties.
- Respect for system preferences such as reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion).
- Alt text for informative images; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Key information about Hanse Mondial is also available in plain German (Leichte Sprache).
- Regular checks with automated tools and manual keyboard testing.
Known limitations
- Some older PDF documents (for example in the press and downloads section) are not yet fully accessible.
- Embedded third-party content (for example videos or review widgets) may depend on the accessibility of those providers and is partly outside our direct control.
- The read-aloud feature uses your browser's speech output. Voice availability and quality vary by device.
We are working on fixing these issues. If one of them affects you, please get in touch and we will provide the content in an accessible form.
